Darren and his Mum Catherine went to Mirjana’s apparition this morning to give thanks to God through the intercession of Our Lady, for Darren’s healing of his inability to walk, on this date last year.
Read Darren’s story of that memorable day.
“Even the rosary alone can work miracles in the world and in your lives”. 25th January 1991
Thursday, 2nd June 2016, began as any other day in Medugorje, for Catherine Carroll and her son Darren, except their rise was a little earlier than usual in order to be at the base of the Blue Cross, in time for Our Lady’s apparition to Mirjana.

On arrival, Catherine strategically aligned Darren in his wheelchair among the other wheelchair users, on the left hand side of the incline approaching the Blue Cross. It was apparition time. Darren lovingly draped his arms around his Mum and they prayed to Our Lady.
After the apparition, Mirjana full of joy after the encounter with Our Lady, came down and gently caressing Darren’s cheek, said, “Oh you are still here!” Darren said “Yes”, and she affectionately embraced him and he embraced her. Mirjana then said, as she looked into Darren’s eyes, “I have something special for you, especially for you” and reaching into her bag she pulled out a Rosary Bracelet and placed it on his wrist.
24 year old Darren has suffered all his life with Coffin-Lowry Syndrome, a condition that has left Darren physically and intellectually disabled and for the past 10 years has been in a wheelchair. Through Divine providence and Gospa’s intervention, Catherine and Darren have an apartment in Medjugorje that permits them to spend long periods of time there.
Since that faithful day that is etched in Catherine’s mind, Darren has been healed of his inability to walk and is a joy and hope for all the pilgrims witnessing each miraculous step he takes. He walks everywhere with his dear Mum and his smile is an indication of the joy and happiness that comes from within.
