The Feast of the Triumph of the Cross is being celebrated in Medjugorje this morning with Holy Mass in Croatian, at 11am, on the summit of Križevac. Fr. Antonio Šakota the Parish Priest of St. Peter and Paul Church in Mostar, will preside as the main Celebrant.

Thousands will begin climbing from the early hours to secure a place in front of the Altar.

Holy Mass has been celebrated on the first Sunday after the Nativity of Our Lady (8^th September), on Križevac since 1935, when Bishop Alojzije Mišić, declared it to be on this day.

Our Lady said of this Cross, in Her message of 30th August  1984

“Dear children, the cross was also in God’s plan when you built it.

These days especially, go on the mountain and pray before the cross.

I need your prayers.

Thank you for having responded to my call.”
