If a door is closed you can’t enter until you open it….. it is the same with our heart. If our heart is closed, God can’t enter and fill it with all the gifts and graces he has in store for us.

Our Lady gave this message 33 years ago today and it is applicable now more than ever.

Dear children! Today I wish to tell you to open your hearts to God like the spring flowers which crave for the sun. I am your Mother and I always want you to be closer to the Father and that He will always give abundant gifts to your hearts. Thank you for having responded to my call. ”

Here in the photo we see a flower growing between two rocks on Apparition Hill, a most unlikely place for it to grow. The flower opened itself up to the rays of the sun and begins to grow and bloom.

It is the same with our hearts, we must crave for and long for, and expose our hearts to the rays of the Son (not the sun) and be nourished by his body and blood, soul and Divinity, in the Holy Eucharist at Mass and in Adoration, so that they too can grow in Christ’s love.

When we crave something, we long deeply for something and that yearning does not cease until we get it. And when we get it, we are satisfied. Our hearts are craving, thirsting for God because

‘for in him were created all things in heaven and on earth: everything visible and everything invisible, thrones, ruling forces, sovereignties, powers — all things were created through him and for him.’ Col 1:16

It is only when invite the Lord into our heart, will we be at peace. Our Lady knows what is best for us because she is our Mother and she is leading us to our Lord…. but we must always keep our heart open to receive His gifts.
