On this day 37 years ago, Sunday the 28th of June 1981, Apparition Hill was thronged with people from the early hours, as word was filtering through about the apparitions. It was estimated that 15,000 gathered, some in faith, some out of curiosity. Earlier that day Fra. Jozo Zovko questioned the visionaries about what they had seen and heard in the previous few days.
At apparition time, the visionaries prayed with Our Lady then bombarded Her with questions once again.
They asked; What do you wish?”
Our Lady replied ; “ That people believe and persevere in the faith
Vicka asked “ What do you expect from the priests?”
Our Lady said, “That they remain strong in the faith and that they help you.”
Our Lady was then asked, “Why don’t you appear to everyone in church?” to which She replied, “Blessed are they who have not seen and yet believe”.
They then asked “Will you come back?”
“Yes, to the same place”. Our Lady responded.
“Do you prefer prayer or singing?”
-“Both, pray and sing”.
Vicka asked:” What do you wish from the crowd which has gathered here?”
Our Lady smiled and gave a glance of love but did not respond. She disappeared, and the visionaries prayed for her to return as she had not said goodbye to them.
They began singing the hymn “You Are All Beautiful”, and Our Lady re-appeared again.
.Vicka repeated her previous question : “Dear Gospa, what do you expect of this people?” What do you want from our priests?” Our Lady responded, “That those who do not see believe as those who see”. Regarding priests, she replied that they should believe firmly and help others to do the same.
On that day Our Lady came and went many times. During one of these times the children asked her why she doesn’t appear in the Parish Church for everyone to see. She replied, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe”.
Vicka then asked :“Will you leave us a sign so that people believe that we are not liars nor comedians?”
Our Lady smile and said. “Go in the peace of God”, as she disappeared.
